One of the most magnificent kokoshniks in the collection of Tsarina Marie Feodorovna of Russia was her diamond and sapphire tiara, a part of a larger diamond and sapphire parure. Like most of the rest of her grand jewels, this tiara no longer exists -- but perhaps not for the reason you might think.
